This paper explores the affective turn in contemporary narratives through the analysis of OTT (Over-The-Top) dramas, examining their implications for redefining literary theory. The emergence of OTT platforms has blurred traditional boundaries between drama and film, leading to a new narrative paradigm that prioritizes emotional and affective storytelling. OTT dramas, designed for binge-watching, employ affective narrative strategies that focus on emotional rhythms and sustained immersive engagement, thereby dissolving genre distinctions between dramas and films.
This study investigates these changes by analyzing the altered narrative structures and emotional strategies of OTT dramas and examines how platform-based viewing practices influence narrative composition and emotional consumption. Additionally, specific cases illustrate the implementation of genre hybridity through emotion-centered storytelling.
Ultimately, this paper argues that OTT dramas establish a novel narrative form transcending genre and medium boundaries, potentially broadening the theoretical horizons of literary studies. By analyzing OTT dramas, this research highlights the potential for expanding and reshaping literary theory and provides a theoretical foundation for further affect-oriented narrative studies.

본고는 OTT 드라마를 중심으로 현대 서사의 감정 중심적 전환과 문학 이론의 재편 가능성을 고찰하였다. OTT 플랫폼의 등장과 함께 드라마와 영화의 전통적 경계가 모호해지면서, OTT 드라마는 감정 서사 중심의 새로운 서사 패러다임을 형성하고 있다. 특히 정주행 시청을 전제로 구성된 OTT 드라마는 감정의 리듬과 연속적 몰입을 유도하는 정동적(affective) 서사 전략을 사용하고 있다. 이것이 드라마와 영화의 장르적 경계를 허물고 있다.
본고는 이러한 현상을 분석하기 위해 OTT 드라마의 서사 구조 변화와 감정 중심적 전략을 살피고, 플랫폼 기반의 시청 방식이 서사 구조와 감정 소비 방식에 미친 영향을 검토하였다. 나아가 감정 중심의 서사 전략을 통해 드라마와 영화의 장르적 혼종성이 구현되는 과정을 구체적인 작품 사례를 들어 분석하였다.
결론적으로, OTT 드라마는 장르와 매체를 초월한 새로운 서사 형식을 구축하였다. 이것은 문학의 이론적 지평을 넓히는 중요한 계기가 될 수 있음을 제시하였다. 본고는 OTT 드라마 분석을 통해 문학 이론의 재편과 확장 가능성을 모색하는 동시에, 감정 중심의 서사 연구를 위한 이론적 토대를 제공하였다.
