The definition of curation is to collect, select and to add and disseminate the new values. The definition of curator is the person who performs all kinds of behaviors such as collection, selection of the information and adds the value and conducts the collection, preservation, management, investigation and research etc. The term ‘Digital’ is combined with the curation, implying various meanings, and used as complex term. The term ‘Digital curation’ is the term covering the thee concepts ‘Docent’, ‘Curator’, ‘User-customized digital service’. The role of digital curation programs is like a curator’s role to possess lots of knowledge, to collect and plan the information. And also, the digital curation performs the role of docent, explaining the exhibition by applying digital functions such as audio and multimedia etc. and implementing user -customized collection service based on the immense volume of the information. The digital curation is expected to be applied for various heritage resources in where curator and docent do not stay. This digital curation will be applied not only to historic sites, temples, Korean Hyanggyo but also to tour of the ally and city including the directions of the road. And also, the digital curation will forward knowledge and save usercustomized information and create another type of contents and algorithms. The present conditions of digital curation are reviewed through the analysis on the application of museum and art gallery in this paper. The plans to grow multimedia docent as digital curation is suggested and the estimated Korean Seowons for the application of multimedia docent, where curator does not reside, are presented in this paper. If the digital curation system for regional heritage resources is commercialized, it is expected that the digital curation would help conduct the research and make continuous interest in regional cultural base with long history and tradition since the functions of digital curation such as archiving, docent, tourism (interest) will be used as a tool for continuous interest in regional base of traditional culture. Especially, the GeumO-Seowon, where the movement of research, transmission and restoration are just about to start, is the ideal place for application of digital curation. The continuous interest and the modern transmission of traditional culture can be affected with the application of the digital curation to Seowon.
